The City of Gaithersburg urges residents to enroll in Alert Gaithersburg, a notification system that contacts subscribers during a major crisis or emergency. Alert Gaithersburg delivers important emergency alerts, notifications and updates to several electronic devices simultaneously. When an incident or emergency occurs, subscribers will be instantly notified with instructions on what to do, where to go, who to contact and other important information. Local weather alerts, traffic emergencies, public safety incidents and notifications from Montgomery County's Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security are also delivered on this system.
